Temat: Why do we save water?
Okay this is going to sounds really really dumb but I have to ask it. All growing up were told to conserve water, but nobody has ever told me why. I understand that even though most of the world is water, almost all of it is salt water so we cant drink it but doesn't the water cycle through? Example, the water I drank today is the water I could drink a year from now because of all the cycling and cleaning. Yes that's sort of gross but I was thinking about that the other day when I was turning off the bathroom sink. They just seem to contradict themselves and I was hoping that somebody could clear this up. Let it be said though, that I do try to conserve water : ) I just don't know why I'm doing it. (Other then because teachers told me to)...

...biology is quite interesting, even though the lecturer gives us info at speeds exceeding our ability to take notes (fortunately the lecture notes are available on the internet). Genetics is dull, purely for the fact that he's mainly repeating everything we learnt in the past 2 years of biology, for the benefit of those that hadn't done biology before. Covered artifial reefs, fishing gear & vessels, waste disposal, sediment, water composition, global warming and the water cycle, estuaries, and some other stuff. There's not much incentive to work though, at the moment... ...as a result, I have 3 weeks worth of lecture notes to type up and condense. Eeep. More cell biology tomorrow, as well as 3 lectures on oceanography & marine ecology. 9am start! not fun.

Not a dumb question at all. Where did you live that they told you to conserve water? Did you know where your water was coming from (ground water or surface water) and how it got there (wells or reservoirs, etc.)?
